“In 2004, Zach joined the fraternity I cofounder at CU-Boulder. He embodied the spirit of what founders wanted to emulate. “Fraternity” elicits emotions and we wanted to debunk notions with unique and approachable fellowship that was inclusive to all incomes and backgrounds. We dreamt of acceptance over traditional “frat” culture. Zach was an ideal pledge; displaying consistent character, acceptance, loyalty and assimilated flawlessly disregard graduating class. Since his unfortunate passing, numerous brothers have spoken out on their individual experiences of feeling lost and/or insecure in their lives and Zach acknowledging their struggles and making timely and positive impact. To this day I visit the ADP house and feel Zach’s philanthropy whether it’s an MVP trophy or inspired community event.
Zach loved big and we wanted to memorialize his legacy beyond the Boulder chapter house, hence the SFC Zachary Brown Memorial Scholarship was born. The foundation is a 501c3 formed in 1961 that awards 100 scholarships annually to fraternity members and their families. Please consider joining us and ensuring Zach’s legacy and positive impact lives on."
